Do I need public liability insurance to host an event?Public liability insurance is designed to protect event organisers against claims made by members of the public for injury or property damage that occurs as a result of the event. This type of insurance is particularly important for events where there is a risk of accidents or injuries, such as outdoor activities or sports events which is very much the case at Teign Valley Experiences. Having public liability insurance in place can provide financial protection against legal costs and compensation payments that may arise from such claims. It can cover a range of incidents, including slips, trips, falls, or other accidents that occur during the event. It's important to note that public liability insurance is often a requirement for most event venues or local authorities when obtaining permits or licences for hosting events in public spaces. While we've partnered with Beepolicy to offer comprehensive options for public liability insurance, we understand that some event organisers may already have coverage in place with their preferred insurance company. We recommend Beepolicy for those who need coverage or are looking for a reliable provider. However, you are free to choose the insurance company that best suits your needs.
-
What is the price for hosting my event?Understanding that every host (experience provider) has different requirements based on their offering, we've divided these into three packages. Pricing will be provided after filling in an inquiry form and having a friendly chat with us about your vision. Please note that we are committed to making our venue hire as affordable as possible so that more people can benefit from spending time outdoors in our beautiful space. We even offer a free trial on one of our packages so that you can familiarise yourself with our venue and (hopefully) host other events with us.
-
In the event of rain, will there be a covered area available? In the near future, a small awning will be installed in the campfire area. However, if you require a larger covered area in one of the fields for a specific session, we do not currently have an event teepee available on-site. Nevertheless, this is a service that can be arranged for hire, and we can provide a quotation upon request
-
Is there drinking water on site?Yes, we provide a mains drinking water tap on-site for your convenience. However, as part of our commitment to sustainability and reducing single-use plastics, we strongly recommend that each attendee brings along a filled 2-litre reusable water bottle. This not only ensures you stay hydrated throughout the event but also contributes to our efforts in minimising plastic waste and preserving the environment. Thank you for joining us in our eco-conscious initiatives!
-
Are there toilets on-site?Yes, we have compost toilets available on-site. Our compost toilets are part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. They are thoughtfully designed to minimise our ecological footprint while providing a comfortable and hygienic experience for our guests. We take pride in offering eco-friendly facilities that align with our values of conservation and respect for the natural environment.
-
What if the weather is bad?The Sauna is open from May to September, come rain or shine. We suggest guests come prepared for all weathers. We don’t close in bad weather, only in very rare circumstances (such as severe storms). You can take shelter inside the sauna itself. If the forecast is looking particularly bad in the days leading up to your booking you can reschedule up to 72 hrs in advance.
-
Where do I park? Please either park in one of our 2 parking spaces at the gateway entrance or the village of Bridford is only a few minutes walk away. If you’re coming as a group, we encourage car sharing as a more sustainable way of travel.
-
Is the land suitable for people with mobility issues? The land is set in a valley, with the first field featuring a slope that is generally easier to descend than to ascend! As such, a moderate level of fitness is required to navigate the terrain comfortably. However, it's important to note that the uneven terrain and slopes may pose challenges for individuals with mobility issues. Therefore, we advise that the land may not be suitable for those with mobility limitations. We want all our guests to have a safe and enjoyable experience, so please consider this when planning your sauna visit or attending one of our events.
-
How do I cancel an event? To cancel an event, please refer to the email confirmation you received upon booking. As some of our events are organised by different experience providers, cancellation procedures and terms and conditions may vary.
-
Can I bring my dog? While there should be no livestock on the land between May and September, this can vary based on the weather conditions we have been subject to. It will also depend on the specific experience provider hosting the event. We recommend contacting the event organiser, whose details can be found in your email confirmation, to inquire about their policy on pets or contacting us for more information. If permitted, please note that all dogs must be supervised at all times, and you cannot enter the sauna area while they are roaming free. Additionally, as responsible pet owners, we kindly ask that you pick up after your dog, and all dog waste must be taken home with you. To minimise environmental impact, we recommend using Bio Corn Starch Blend poo bags.
-
What is the maximum number of people allowed?Booking is for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6. The sauna cabin itself fits 5 comfortably, 6 people if you’re happy to be cosy. We do allow groups of up to 12 people with an extra £8/person fee. For groups over 6, we ask that guests select the Private Sauna Plus Campfire as this gives you more seating options outside and means the group can warm up in the sauna in rotation. As it’s a longer session, you’ll all get a chance to enjoy some decent time inside the sauna. An extra fee of £8 per person is applied to over 6 people.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you understand. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know.
-
Do you have a changing room area?Yes, we have a changing room area with a bench and hooks, although space is limited. To make the most of your visit, we suggest bringing only the essentials and arriving with your swimwear discreetly worn underneath your clothes for a quick change into sauna attire. During colder spells, we recommend bringing extra layers of clothing to ensure warmth and comfort after your sauna session. We also suggest that you leave any valuables at home or in your car and remove jewellery if possible before entering the sauna as some metals can get very hot and please be aware that we do not accept responsibility for lost or damaged items.
-
Is nudity allowed in the sauna? If your group has booked a private sauna session, we have no objection to nudity, however we do request that you use a towel to sit on during your session for hygiene purposes. Please be aware that a staff member has to be present on the land during your visit for health & safety purposes as well as for managing the stove, however we are very conscientious of your experience and will do our best to give you as much privacy as possible.
-
What’s the cancellation policy? If you need to reschedule your sauna session, please notify us at least 72 hours before your booking date. Please note that we do not offer refunds on bookings, so we kindly ask that you ensure your availability before confirming your session.

What do I need to bring for my sauna session? We advise bringing swimwear, 2 towels (one to sit on and one to dry off with), a full water bottle (not metal if you are wanting to drink inside the sauna) and a pair of flip flops to use in the outdoor shower might be useful.
